Tech giant Infosys is building the world’s tallest clock tower at its Mysore campus spread over an area of 345 acres. The freestanding clock tower will have a height of 135 meters.
Infosys runs a global education center in Mysore. The company has always maintained that it is the world’s biggest corporate university. The clock tower is coming up on the campus of this education center. The proposed clock tower will beat London’s Ben Ten (96m), California’s Hoover Tower (87m) and Cornell’s McGraw Tower (53m). It will be built in the Gothic Style. The tower will have 19 towers. There will be a board room at level seven. While the tower is going to have traditional Gothic architecture, it will use digital timepieces. It will have a large digital screen on all four sides.
Infosys has already acquired most of the permissions required for building the tower. The clock tower is going to be built at a cost of 60 crore rupees. It will reportedly be complete in 2 years. The tower is designed by Mumbai based architect Hafeez Contractor.
