Lotus Mahal Hampi

The Lotus Mahal or Lotus Palace is part of the Zenana Enclosure which was a secluded area reserved for the women of the royal family of Vijayanagara. It is a beautiful structure with distinctive architecture. The Lotus Mahal is also one of the few structures in Hampi that did not suffer any major damage when invaders attacked the city.

The beautiful structure has the shape of a lotus bud. The Lotus Mahal differs from other structures found in Hampi. It is an example of the Indo-Islamic style of architecture. The whole structure looks like a half-open lotus bud.
